Local Boy Given Gift of eSight
Andrew Borden is getting a new pair of glasses; but not any ordinary glasses! Andrew is blind due to a rare condition called ocular albinism. What he needed to see was going to cost $10,000! What did Andrew do?
Andrew set up a GoFundMe page to raise the money.And … Thanks to many generous donations from individuals, businesses, and organizations, Andrew is getting a high-tech electronic pair of glasses made by eSight! These special glasses allow Andrew to see without having to transport a giant piece of equipment everywhere he goes.
How does it work?
eSight technology is a wearable camera that captures and enhances what Andrew sees, and then redisplays it custom-made for him. eSight’s founder was inspired to come up with this technology to help his own sisters see. Of course it took a long time to design and millions of dollars invested, but the end result is amazing.
