Blount Inclusive Playground
The Maryville, Farragut and Knoxville Tri-County Lions Club are working in collaboration with the Maryville-Alcoa-Blount County Parks & Rec Commission, and The Arc of the Great Smoky Mountains to build an all inclusive playground for the families of Blount County and surrounding communities to be called the “Blount Inclusive Playground”. Particular attention has been made for total accessibility and safety measures for those with disabilities and physical or mental impairments. We hope to inspire children and families of all ages and abilities to have fun in a safe, inviting environment. This playground will be built at the existing John Sevier Park Playground across from the John Sevier Elementary School. This playground is being built in Phases with Phase I due to be completed in June 2021. This Phase is geared toward the 5-12 age group although younger children are certainly welcome. Phase II will be geared toward the younger children.
Donations – We are still welcoming all donations to this project as it will be continuing through
Phase II and beyond. Although the Go Fund Me page is currently not active, donations can be made by sending checks made payable to “Blount Inclusive Playground” and mailed to:
